Sad news today that rocked the horror and film fandom world as Sid Haig has died at the age of 80.
In a statement shared on the actor’s Instagram account, wife Susan L. Oberg wrote, “My light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans, this came as a shock to all of us. We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected.”
An accomplished actor with a career that spanned over 50 years, Haig was perhaps best known for his work in Jackie Brown, James Bond, and of course his iconic role as Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie‘s House of 1000 Corpses, The Devils Rejects, and (the recently released) 3 From Hell.
As of the time of this writing, no other details surrounding this have been made available. We will continue to update this article as the story develops.
We at Nerd Nation would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans. Rest in Peace, Mr. Haig… and thank you.
