NEWS – Con-Tagion Announces Inaugural 2019 Event

Earlier today, Falstaff Books in association with The Charlotte Geeks announced the official launch of Con-Tagion, the latest convention to join Charlotte’s rapidly-expanding market, and first to present itself as an event specifically “for creatives, by creatives.”

Convention Founder (and Founder of Falstaff Books), award-winning author John G. Hartness, when asked about the reasons behind the creation of Con-Tagion stated “the goal is to create an inclusive and supportive environment for a diverse group of artists, writers, and creators to put their passions into action and hone their craft. This convention is as much about learning as it is about fandom.”

The first event will be something of a “soft-launch” and take place February 9, 2019 at the Queens University Sports/Performance Arena in Charlotte, NC and is being presented as a one-day “Proof of Con-cept” event, with plans already in place to fully-expand to a three-day convention for 2020. Both will feature writers, comic artists, filmmakers, podcasters, musicians, cosplayers, and the ‘Muggles Market Too’ – an artisan market featuring all things nerdy, geeky, and fun as made famous by Charlotte’s annual Geek Gala events.
