After much speculation, Gearbox Software unveiled their next project; which is none other than the highly anticipated Borderlands 3. During their panel at this weekend’s PAX East, Randy Pitchford of Gearbox announced that “obviously, there’s going to be another Borderlands.”
Following the huge announcement, and subsequent fanfare, Pitchford informed that “it may not actually be called Borderlands 3” and that the name is “still an undecided matter.” Furthermore, it was also confirmed that the art director for the game is none other than Scott Kester, known for his work on Battleborn.
While there is no definitive answer as to when this game will be landing on consoles/PC, a fair estimation suggests that it should arrive between late 2017 and early 2018.
Nonetheless, this is huge news for gamers, especially fans of the Borderlands series. In the meantime, both ‘Borderlands 2’ and ‘Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel’ are currently available (with new HD upgrades and all DLC included) in ‘Borderlands: The Handsome Collection’ on Xbox One and Playstation 4… so get out there and get to shootin’ and lootin’!
