Cult film icon Danny Trejo, during a signing appearance at last weekend’s Mad Monster Party convention in Charlotte, NC revealed that filming begins later this year on Machete Kills Again…In Space alongside director Robert Rodriguez.
“Robert and I are going to start to do Machete Kills In Space,” Trejo reports to HalloweenDailyNews, “so that’s going to be awesome. Absolutely. We’re going to be working on it this year.” – Trejo was also on-hand for an exclusive film interview with our very own Nerd Nation TV – which will be posted within the coming week right here on NerdNationMagazine.com.
Machete Kills Again…In Space is the third in a trilogy that -believe it or not – almost never-was. The concept for the original Machete started with the faux-trailer included in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s 2007 double-feature: Grindhouse. By 2010, there was a feature-length Machete (co-directed by Ethan Maniquis) in theaters, followed up by 2013’s Machete Kills.
